Here is a great rebate program that gives cash back for anyone who gives, gets or needs care. You may think this program is for the elderly only and for products many of us don't use very often. I used to think that way too until I discovered that it can be used for baby products (like Huggies Diapers), personal items and for items we purchase for ourselves. The rebate program is available to anyone that purchases the qualifying products. The products can be purchased at any store with absolutely no restrictions.

It's OK to take a Break

The other day I was reading a very interesting post written by Gina on Mommy Making Money about her frugality and savings burnout and after giving the issue some thought I realized she had some really important points. The pressure of saving and being frugal will likely take a toll on you and your family and the need to splurge occasionally will most likely hit you (if it hasn't hit you already). I have been through this battle many times and the bottom line is "Its actually OK to take a break".
The reason I justify my occasional splurges is because I know that with my frugal & saving lifestyle I have saved thousands of dollars over the years and I can actually afford to spend a little on something out of the budget. And when I do splurge on something, I don't feel guilty about it. Going out to eat every so often is OK and we all need to feel human "once in a while". But soon enough the frugalistic side of me will kick in and I will once again be on a roll, looking for every possible way to save money and get more for my dollar.
The way I see it, is that its absolutely necessary to take breaks from frugal living because if you don't you will end up in complete burnout and indulge in big time spending. Treating yourself or your home with something you wanted for a while is worth it for it creates sanity and peace of mind. For me spending some quality "hubby time" in a nice restaurant even though its costly, is very worthwhile for our relationship and will better our children's lives. It's important to know when frugality has take a back seat in order for it to remain in the driver's seat most of the time.
So as this Holiday Season is approaching treat yourself, family and friends to some of their wishes and enjoy them. Don't forget even though you maybe buying some "extras" this time of year, if you use coupons and take advantage of sales then you are doing plenty to save money and are ahead of the game. Hope you all have a very relaxed and enjoyful Holiday Season!

Redbox is a movie vending machine located in over 10,000 Supermarkets, McDonald's and Walmarts. Movie Rentals are $1 per night and are due by 9 PM the following night. You will need to use a credit card to get your movie and you will be charged accordingly ($1 per night). Once you create an account with Redbox you will have some added benefits such as reserving the latest movie from your computer and it will be waiting for you at the vending machine of your choice. Also if you update your account with a cellphone number, you will get a text message every Monday with a Free Movie Code. As an added bonus when you sign up, you will receive a Free Movie Code to use whenever you want and get a free night's rental.

New! Load P&G Coupons on your Safeway Card

P&G eSAVER Coupons can now be loaded on your Safeway Club Card. If you are not familiar with e-coupons yet, its time to familiarize yourself with them since it seems to be the "new generation of coupons". E- Coupons are coupons you can load onto your club card after you register with P&G eSAVER. When an item with an e-coupon is purchased, the coupon will automatically be deducted from your bill. There is no need to clip coupons anymore just load the e-coupons onto your card. The e-coupon is like a manufacturers coupon and most stores will not accept a paper manufacturer coupon on the same item, at this time Kroger does accept both e-coupons and paper coupons for the same item. I cannot confirm this since I don't have a Kroger's near me.

This program has been available for some time now, however Safeway is the latest store to be added to this program. The current supermarkets participating in the P&G e SAVER program are Kroger, Ralphs, King Soopers, Fry's, Smith's, Dillons, QFC, JayC, City Market, Safeway, Randall's, Tom Thumb, Carr's, Vons, Genuardi's, Dominick's and Pavilions.
